Mr. Abbato : Important Notification !

Attention NJIT Students,

I hope you all enjoyed class today !
This is important information coming from the central office. ALL blogs, response comments and gadgets MUST BE about or related to the NJIT program.. Although I applaud your efforts to spark interesting conversations such as sleepless nights.. We must use our imaginations and see how we can incorporate our chemistry program with higher order thinking questions and statements... IF STUDENTS MISUSE THE BLOG LEAVING ANONYMOUS OR NEGATIVE COMMENTS.. THE STUDENT OR STUDENTS  WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DISMISSED FROM THE NJIT PROGRAM PERMANENTLY. With that being said..We need to keep the blog interesting.. Here are a few good ideas that can help you come up with creative blog topics.

GOOD IDEAS FOR GOOD GRADES:

* Look up news websites such as foxnews.com, cnn.com, msnbc.com and click on the science and tech tab.. there are always interesting current events you could access and blog about.. leave a link so others can read the article as well.

* This is an educational blog, therefore, grammar must be on point, in order to receive a good grade.

* Blog about how you could incorporate physics or chemistry into everyday life.. sports..video games.. food.. etc.

Example...Ever wonder what's really in your food ? How can chemistry help me determine this ? Maybe.. every American should own a food testing chemistry kit.. how do you think this would effect American society ?

* Blog about exciting games and activities you participated in during your day.

*Blog about field trips !

* Blog about questions you have or help with homework!

* Be sure to always give yourself credit using the nicknames you made up in class.. it must incorporate your complete first name.. in order for me to give you credit.

*Historical / Scientific quotes are always good conversation starters.

( Remember, not only will you be graded on the quantity of your posts and comments.. you will also be graded on the quality.)

WHAT NOT TO DO !

* LEAVING ANONYMOUS COMMENTS, IP ADDRESSES CAN BE   TRACED.

* DO NOT SHARE PASSWORDS WITH STUDENTS FROM OTHER CLASSES. YOU WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AS WELL AS THE STUDENT FROM THE OTHER CLASS.

*ALL SUBJECT MATTER SHOULD BE POSITIVE ! NEGATIVITY IS NEVER SOMETHING SOMEONE SHOULD PROMOTE.

I will leave off on this post with a quote from Albert Einstein.

Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school " .. What does this quote mean to you ?

  1. This is a very interesting quote from Einstien. To me it means when you leave school you do not learn anything. I feel what you keep remembering and have learned after school is education. Education is when you know everything you did in your mind and apply everything you have learned. If you forget everything you have learned, you did not receive education.

  2. This quote caught me off guard and at first I was confused. But I feel that education can come fro more than school. It can come from learning things everyday and remembering them. Education is key and if we observe our surroundings we can gain an education !

  3. This quote took me a minute to understand but after a while I got it. To me it means what you learn in school does not matter because you wont be able to apply it to things you do in life. The things a person can apply in life come from what they learn on the street. Personally i do agree with the quote.

  4. I believe that this quote means that there are some things in school that may not be truly essential. Some things are fun facts that may be interesting to spark off a conversation but not really useful in the long term. It is the things that one carries with them day after day that are truly educational and make an impact in one's life.

  5. Nice work guys ! You're thinking out of the box! This is an extremely deep quote, coming from one of the most brilliant minds that has ever existed.. did you know that Einstein's brain had some abnormalities with being compared to the average human brain?.. Check out this wiki ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Einstein's_brain ) This quote dives deeper than it seems.. To me.. Einstein is comparing education with wisdom.. and experience. You see.. summers tend to be mind erasers when it comes to school.. especially in the United States.. we love our vacations ! Behind it all though.. we are human and cant remember everything...but what you gain in school is an education, which can help you look at life in a new light.. a light which will help you illuminate the hardest/darkest parts of your life and help you succeed in your future.. Experience is the key.
